Every year, a lot of money is spent by many people in order to take care their hair, thus it can be considered one of the most important things that people try to make perfect. Having perfect hair is different for many people, as it can depend on how your hair is, straight or curly. Overall there are some general hair care tips that may interest you.

Having the right type of hair care products for your specific hair is necessary. If the hair is already healthy and color-treated, you may use products which are specially designed for healthy and color treated hair. If your hair is oily, you may be more interested in using a deeper cleansing shampoo with the right mix of a light conditioner in order to keep your hair looking perfect.

Another hair care tip is to get a trip or a haircut at least every 6 weeks on a regular routine. Snipping the ends is important as it will avoid unhealthy hair and split ends to disappear. The sun is also another determinant and affects damaging hair, so choosing the right hair care product which contains a type of sun block or sunscreen. Most people think that shampooing your hair often will make your hair better, but in doing so it can make your hair dry and harder to work with. There is no need to shampoo your hair on a daily basis, but it is important and vital to shampoo it when it feels dirty. When you exit the shower, most people do not use a wide toothed comb for their hair. In fact it is important to use a wide toothed comb to prevent breakage at the roots of the hair or between the strands itself. Also it is important to dampen or dry your hair before combing.

Avoid purchasing over the counter material and get advice from professionals for your hair care products. You can save a lot of money by going directly to a professional, even though they are expensive, than to try different things and damaging your hair with over the counter products and listening to advice from friends. Using a professional conditioner is a very important factor, especially if your hair is colored. Choosing the right type of coloring product can give minimal damage. This will saves your money in the long run.

If you simply want a looser curl, apply a “hot oil” treatment. This can be done as often as needed. If this doesn’t relax the curl sufficiently, a perm may be reversed by applying another perm. Instead of the hair being wrapped around perm rods, it is gently combed straight while the chemicals are applied.. After processing, the hair is neutralized in the straight position.

When straightening out hair with a permanent wave, you will not get bone straight hair. The curl, however can be reduced. Buy a perm for your hair type (resistant, color treated, bleached etc.) Be sure to read your perm directions before applying. Shampoo hair and towel dry. Apply the solution to the hair. Comb through, smoothing the hair out as straight as possible, do not comb it continually, just sit quietly without much movement until the suggested time has past. Rinse and towel dry, and apply the neutralizer with one combing and rinse after 5 minutes. Do not use conditioners until 2 weeks afterwards. You can use Phinish by KMS. It will not undo all your work and can help condition and remove perm odor.

The disadvantage of this process is additional damage to the hair strand. Permed hair may be porous and dry. The damage may be further minimized by treating the hair with conditioners and reconstructors (after two weeks.) You may need a trim on the ends if for nothing else than unevenness from the straightening. Warning! Do NOT try to straighten a perm by using a chemical straightener! These products may contain lye and will melt your hair! Chemical straighteners are designed for natural curly hair (corkscrew pattern)or ethnic hair types. They are best left to a professional!

If your are such a girl dreaming of the most beautiful prom dress that you can find, consider that it will not look as great as it could be, if you forget the importance of prom hairstyles to accentuate your dress.

Sexy looking up-dos, short hairstyles, long hairstyles, and even funky styles, prom hairstyles are a world apart to choose from right one for a stunning looking appearance on this special night. A balanced combination between your dress, shoes, accessories, hair, makeup, and the magic of a perfume, are a just a few points of attention for a gorgeous look.

Many great prom hairstyles are created in the salon, but that does not mean that you cannot get astonishing results with a hairdo made at home by yourself or with the help of your close friends to achieve the hairstyle you want. You can find a good source of hairstyles through online photo galleries, and also browsing beauty magazines and catalogs.

Decide on the style that best fits your personality or the special look you want on your prom night. Sophisticated, classic up-dos are always great to wear on one the most important events of every woman’s life. Hair extensions are a great aid if your hair is not enough to design a fashionable style.

Prom hairstyles come also in long hairstyles and short hairstyles. You can always visit a salon if you are unsure of your choice, and make an appointment. You should call the salon at least one to 2 months prior to the prom to set your appointment. Many other girls will also be setting their appointments and you want to be sure to have yours. Jot down the date and confirm the appointment 2 or 3 days before the date to make sure nothing has changed.

Think of your personality, or the self-image you want to offer on prom night. Many young women want to look like an adult serious woman by getting a dress, makeup and hairdo that makes him feel like as if they were a total stranger to themselves, while others prefer to become that woman, leaving in the past, any teenage look.

The most important thing is be yourself. Consider also that short styles are more often associated with casual or sporty lifestyles, while long hairstyles are more likely associated with a sexy looking image.

Explain to your friends or your stylist what the exact look is that you want, and consider having a trial. Most salons gladly will guide you through many prom hairstyles until you find the right one, whether with hair extensions, up-dos, long hairstyles or short hairstyles.

Prom is coming up, and I bet all of you young ladies are trying to figure out what to do with your hair! Let me guarantee that you will not have to spend over $100 styling your hair because I’m going to tell you how to do it yourself. This style is classic and never goes out of season. It works best on hair of medium to long length, and of any type. You will need a few ponytail holders and lots of bobby pins.

Start simply, put your hair up into 2 ponytails, if your hair is very thick you may want to do 4 ponytails in a square on the back of your head. From there, start with 1 ponytail and divide it into half and half again so you end up with four equal sections (more if you have very thick hair). Keep each one separate by loosely tying a holder around each one, or simply throwing it over your head.

Take the strand in the middle of your head and make sure it has no tangles. Use caution with your brush, you don’t want to accidentally mix up the strands. Wet your hands with water, or gel if you want to assure no flyaways. Run your hands along the length of the strand until it is wet enough to hold a shape.

Starting at the top, twist the strand to a tight spiral. Once you have 1.5-2 inches twisted hold it against your skull with one hand and pin it down with the other. If you have a difficult time getting the pin to stay, use a second and cross it over the first. So you will end up with two pins forming an X holding your hair in place.

Continue twisting and pinning every two inches or so until the strand is finished. Move on to the next strand in the same ponytail and do the same thing. It is best if you keep the new curls as close as possible to the originals to avoid any open space. When done with all the strands in the first ponytail, simply move on to the next and work your way from the center out.

Fancy It Up a Bit

Some tips to fancy this up a bit would be to twist the hair back into the ponytails. Or, you could make a zig-zag part all the way from your forehead to your neck. You could also gel the ends of each strand so they stick out straight from the coils. Don’t forget about glitter hairspray!

Dangers of Laser Hair Removal on Blonde Hair

You must be aware that there are many beautician clinics that rely on older technology; if they are somewhat unscrupulous there is a risk that some may advise you against attempting laser hair removal on blonde hair claiming that it cannot be successfully performed, in order to sell you other kinds of services.

Human head hair usually grows at a rate of approximately half an inch each month with each hair growing for anywhere between 2 and 6 years. At the end of this growing period, the hair will enter its resting phase and fall out, usually to be replaced by a fresh new hair from the same follicle.

Effective Treatment on Blonde Hair

Laser hair removal can be successful and effectual, but it is essential that you are well-informed and that you do your research thoroughly in order to identify the very best beautician clinics in your city for your own special situation. People who are pale-skinned and dark-haired are fortunate in that they can be treated at any FDA-authorized laser removal beautician clinics, but if you are looking to have your blonde hair treated with lasers then you will need to be choosier.

All laser removal systems can temporarily reduce the growth of hairs for all colors except completely unpigmented hairs (i.e. white hairs). However, with old-style systems, blonde, red or gray haired patients were unlikely to see much difference in terms of permanent reduction – they would need to be treated at about 1-3 month intervals to obtain much benefit.

Modern Removal Treatments

With modern laser systems, the range and precision of light wavelengths offers many more possibilities and the more advanced laser clinics will carefully tailor therapy to each patient’s individual situation based on skin color and color of hairs. An example of one of these systems is the “Epilight” system.

Other options for laser hair removal for blonde hairs include hybrid systems such as the “ELOS” system, which merges laser technology with the use of radio waves.

Pigmenting Blonde Hair

In addition, there are pre-laser treatments now available which will artificially dye the hair follicle cells to increase the options and efficacy of laser removal for blonde hairs. “Meladine” is one such pre-laser hair removal treatment. Cleared in 2003 by the FDA to be used in conjunction with laser hair removal on blonde hair, Meladine, which is made from naturally-occurring compounds present in the ink of marine squid, enhances the natural melatonin in hair roots. This enables the lasers used in removal to effectively target blonde hair.

Classification of Your Hair and Skin Type for Laser Hair Removal

Doctors will classify your skin type based on a system called “The Fitzpatrick Chart”, and it is useful to be aware of this system in preparation for your discussion with a consultant or doctor.

Skin Types on the Fitzpatrick Chart:

TYPE I: Very pale and prone to burning, never tans.
TYPE II: Very sensitive to sun, often burns, hard to tan.
TYPE III: Sensitive to sun, sometimes burns, tans slowly to light brown color.
TYPE IV: Not particularly sensitive to sun, rarely burns, tans to moderate brown.
TYPE V: Not sensitive to sun, rarely burns, tans well.
TYPE VI: Insensitive to sun, never burns, deeply pigmented.

Laser hair removal on blonde hair is now a real viable prospect – the key is to be informed and to be willing to do your legwork before choosing a removal clinic.

There are a number of quite common reasons why women experience either temporary or sometimes, permanent hair loss. These include female pattern baldness, stress, hormonal changes, malnutrition and chronic illness.

Female Pattern Baldness

An increasingly common cause of hair loss in women, this affliction affects approximately one quarter of the female population. It is an inherited condition and can be traced to either the mother or the father, although it is more likely to occur, if both parents carry the baldness gene.

Baldness resulting from female pattern baldness or Androgenetic, sometimes Androgenic Alopecia, does not occur suddenly, as it may do in the case of trauma or severe stress. It is a gradual thing, resulting in the hair thinning, not in patches as with males, but all over the scalp. The result is that over time, a woman’s scalp can be seen, through her remaining hair, which appears much thinner.

Stress

Many Doctors and Trichologists, cite stress as a contributing factor to female hair loss. In situations of high stress, certain chemicals such as adrenaline are released into the blood stream, which can adversely affect the sensitive hair follicles and lead to instances of hair loss. This stress related hair loss is usually temporary however and normal hair growth generally resumes, a few months after the stressful situation has passed.

Hormonal changes

Though the actual causes of female hair loss have not yet been properly identified, they are thought to be aligned with changing hormone levels, particularly those of the male sex hormone testosterone, which is also present in females.

During a woman’s life many hormonal changes will occur and inevitably, the hormonal balance is upset. An upset of this nature may be triggered by childbirth, after abortion or through miscarriage. The body sees these as very similar occurrences and cannot distinguish between them. Many of these instances will result in thinning/shedding but it is reassuring to note, that in most cases, there is an effective treatment.

Chronic illness or major surgery

Chronic illnesses or major surgery can also affect the growing cycle and condition of women’s hair. This is because the growth of hair is seen as a non-essential use of energy.

In situations where the body has to react to chronic illness and major surgery, some non-essential drains on energy resources are temporarily suspended or slowed; hair growth is sometimes affected in this way.

Sometimes the medication used to treat a patient will result in thinning/shedding. Patients suffering from depression, heart problems, arthritis and high blood pressure can experience this, as can those taking some forms of birth control and undergoing chemotherapy.

Malnutrition

Another common cause of hair loss in women is malnutrition. Faddy diets that are low in protein will, in time, cause the body to preserve what protein it has and not “waste” it, on the growth of hair. This will move the hair prematurely to the Telogen or resting stage after which it will fall out.
